Terms of Service - The Accountable Club

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Accountable Club (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.

2. Description of Service

The Accountable Club is a subscription-based service that provides weekly accountability challenges (“accountables”) designed to encourage meaningful human connections. Users receive challenges, complete them, share their experiences, and interact with other members.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent.

4. Subscription and Payments

The Service operates on a weekly subscription basis at $2.99 per week, billed weekly through Stripe.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
You can cancel at any time through your account settings
No refunds are provided for partial weeks
Price changes will be communicated 30 days in advance

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

You agree not to submit content that:

Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
Violates any third-party rights
Contains malware or harmful code
Is spam or commercial solicitation
Impersonates another person or entity

6. Community Guidelines

The Accountable Club is built on positivity and genuine connection. You agree to:

Treat other members with respect and kindness
Share authentic experiences
Not harass, bully, or intimidate others
Report inappropriate content or behavior
Respect others' privacy

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by The Accountable Club and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express permission.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may close your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

We are not responsible for any user interactions or content shared by users. Exercise appropriate caution when meeting people or sharing personal information.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE ACCOUNTABLE CLUB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
